It only works CW - there again, that is exactly its strong point since most of the value of MRP lies in its specialized CW reading algorithms. You will also notice "jerky" CW send if the computer is slow.Ĥ. Although I am comfortably using a 4-year old Pentium III machine, anything slower really won't work at all well with MRP40, especially the graphics. I must say, though, that the 2-3 times that I needed technical support over the years, he has always been very responsive and friendly.ģ.Ěll CW software requires a fairly fast computer and a good soundcard. There is only one author and he alone provides all support. Expect to pay for a license and also to pay for software upgrades and when you upgrade your computer.Ģ. This is neither freeware nor shareware, and the author protects his Intellectual Property aggressively with a short and unbreakable trial period. Most negative comments about this software fall into these categories:ġ. I have found most hardware alternatives to be pretty useless, plus they don't provide a hardcopy of the QSO. The decoding algorithms in MRP40 just seem designed much better to handle this. Other software systems typically fail because of QRM, poorly formed CW and/or frequency drift. Your ear will always be best, but MRP comes surprisingly close! This is definitely, hands-down, absolutely the best available system for CW copy in QRM and poor sending currently available, short of the human ear itself. The spectrum display on the computer is also really useful for tuning and zero-beating your rig. I use it partly as a backup for copying high-speed and noisy CW, as well as providing a good hardcopy automatically of the QSO on my computer for logging purposes. I have tried a number of alternatives, both other software (CwGet, MixW, etc.), and hardware (Kamtronics, MFJ, etc.). I have been using this program for almost seven years now, ever since MRP38 which was the original DOS based CW program.

The 26th Amendment, ratified in 1971, lowered the voting age from 21 down to 18, although some states let people who are 17 vote in primaries if they’ll be 18 on Election Day. “We must think ambitiously about reviving civic duty in America.” The absence of national pride is a serious threat to the future of our country,” Ramaswamy said in a statement released by his campaign. “Our military currently suffers a 25% recruitment deficit, and only 16 percent of Gen Z say they’re proud to be American. There is less potential for delamination if you give the surface a light steel-troweled finish or a broom finish in exterior areas where slip resistance is a concern.ĭon't finish slabs placed on impervious surfaces too early. At air contents greater than 3%, a dense, hard-troweled surface isn't necessary. Be aware that sticky mixes with higher cementitious or sand contents tend to bleed more slowly.ĭo take precautions when finishing if the concrete is air entrained. Bleeding must be completed before starting finishing operations that close the surface (Photo 4). Here are a few dos and don'ts to follow to help you avoid delaminations:ĭon't seal or close the slab surface too early. Photo 4- Postpone final finishing operations until the bleed water sheen has evaporated. Here the depth of delamination is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Photo 3 - The thickness or depth of a delamination can vary, depending on the mix and the timing of final finishing. Stickier mixes, thicker slabs, different types of subgrades, initial concrete temperatures, different cementitious contents, and changes in ambient temperatures all affect the bleeding process and impact when finishing should begin. However, a finisher's job to properly time final finishing can be an art because job-specific influences impact this timing on each project. Following consolidation, and once bleeding is complete, there is nothing left to be trapped to cause voids. But this may not be as easy as it sounds. The simplest way to prevent delamination is to start final finishing of the slab after the bleeding process has run its course. When finishing operations occur too early, uniformly over the slab, a delamination problem can be quite widespread and affect larger zones of a slab surface (Photos 2 and 3). They occur in areas subject to moderate to high rates of evaporation and that are finished too soon. Blisters frequently happen when relatively sticky mixes with higher percentages of fines are placed. Blisters are small, isolated delaminations usually 1 to 3 inches in diameter (Photo 1). But if it's widespread, then you have a more serious problem that should be addressed.ĭelaminations come in various forms and degrees of severity. If the delamination is isolated to just one spot, it might not affect the performance of a concrete slab. Premature finishing resulted in widespread delamination. Photo 2 - Slab placed on waterproofing membrane on roof slab. (Photo courtesy of the Portland Cement Association) Photo 1 - Side view of slab surface containing a blister. Very thin mortar layers over delaminations may even detach when struck with a hammer, as you try to sound out the extent of the delaminated area. These voids create weakened zones right below the surface that can eventually detach during slab use. As concrete hardens, subsurface voids develop where the water or air is trapped. If finishing operations start prematurely and close or seal the surface before bleeding is completed, air and/or water are trapped under the densified surface mortar. This natural settlement causes excess mix water and entrapped air to be displaced (called bleeding), and the lighter materials migrate toward the surface. When fresh concrete is placed and compacted, the solids (cement and aggregate) settle. What's been discovered is a surface delamination in the concrete floor.įind concrete contractors near me How do delaminations happen? Using the hammer to tap around this spot, you identify more hollow-sounding areas. Instead of the clear ringing sound you would expect when metal hits solid concrete, a drummy sound or loud clack draws your attention. As work from other trades continues in the area, someone drops a hammer from a ladder onto the floor, and an unexpected sound is heard. A concrete floor slab placed days ago has hardened and cured. What is Concrete Delamination and How to Prevent & Fix It Learn what causes the paste layer to separate or flake at the surface By George Seegebrecht | Updated October 6, 2021ĭelaminations in concrete slabs can be a serious problem, but often they are "heard" before they are seen. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Macos big sur 11.6.2Apple fixed the Mojave to Big Sur & Monterey Update issue in both the 11.6.2 and 12.1 full installers. There are three different tiers of Sprinklers, each watering a specific number of adjacent tiles. Once you reach Farming Level 2 (through farming, of course), you’ll unlock the recipe to craft Sprinklers. However, on days that it rains, you won’t need to water your crops, so be sure to check your TV regularly for the weather forecast so you can plan accordingly. You can begin upgrading the Watering Can as soon as you want, but know that upgrading tools will take two days, which means one full day you won’t be able to water your plants. As you upgrade the Watering Can, it will be able to hold more water and will water multiple tiles in straight lines, eventually watering 3×3 and 3×9 grids, instead of having to water each crop individually. Better farming through hydrationĮarly on, keeping your crops watered daily can be one of the more tiring tasks. You can choose to use Fertilizers which offer different bonuses including and increased chance of growing quality crops, give your crops a chance to stay watered overnight (cutting down on your workload), and can increase the growth rate of your crops (so they can be gathered earlier). You plant them, water them, harvest them and sell them (or use them to create other goods, then sell those). The crops themselves are relatively low maintenance. Much later, at Farming Level 9, you can obtain the Seed Maker through questing or crafting, with which you can turn most crops into seeds. You’re given some seeds early on and can purchase additional seeds from Pierre’s General Store, JojaMart, and (occasionally) the Traveling Cart, a vendor that is available in Cindersap Forest on Fridays and Sundays. Of course all of this long-term development will require money, so you want to start farming as soon as possible. Doing so can be especially difficult to do early on in-game, as you’ll still have much land clearing to do, with some debris requiring upgraded tools. This is where Stardew Planner will truly shine, as you can use it to get the exact measurements of each in-game item to make sure you’re allowing for enough room. A great way to do this is by “zoning” your farm’s layout to set a general idea of where you’ll be placing crop beds, barns, storage buildings, etc. You’ll be starting small, of course, but it’s best to have a general idea of how you want your overall farm to look, so you can gradually work towards that goal. Once you’ve made some space amidst the chaos of twigs, stumps and rocks, it’s time to start working on that layout. However, there’s certainly nothing wrong with wanting to get the most out of your experience while creating a reasonably profitable farming empire! That seemingly simple farm-life, with its daily chores and respectable hard work, has the possibility of becoming an overwhelming stress-fest if you worry too much about maximizing your farm’s output. After all, there’s a farm to run, friends to make, chores to complete, gathering to do. When you’re first getting started with Stardew Valley, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. If you happen to make fat stacks of gold in the process, that’s awesome, too. After all, that’s what the game is really all about: your choices, and how they affect the community of Pelican Town (and your own farm within). Stardew Valley is a relaxing, simple farm-life simulator in which you gradually build up your farm, forge lasting relationships and help a bunch of lovable little forest spirits called Junimos rebuild the town’s Community Center-or simply bulldoze it to make room for a storage warehouse for your local JojaMart. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Maplewood apartments ithaca voiceHowever, judging from the steel rebar sitting on the edge of the site, the concrete pours have yet to take place, and it looks like the wooden forms are just now being built on the far side of the footprint.Unlike most projects, Maplewood is basically an entire new neighborhood – there are five large apartment buildings, 21 townhouse strings, and the community center, for a grand total of twenty-seven buildings. Welliver has 236’s foundation excavated, and the steel piles are in. 236 Dryden will host 40 units and 138 bedrooms. It appears the cinder block elevator core/stairwell has been assembled as well.Ģ32 Dryden might be the more visually prominent of the two buildings, but it is also the smaller one – it will have 20 units and 53 bedrooms. The exterior walls will be assembled block by block, with new pours as rows of blocks are set in place. STREAM, the architect of The Lux, also did the Ithaka Terraces. There has been talking of making the complex net-zero energy capable, provided that the energy of an off-site solar array can be procured. These are thermally insulated plastic blocks filled with concrete – they tend to be a more expensive approach, but they also tend to have a higher grade of insulation (higher R-value), making for a more energy-efficient structure. The former Cascadilla School dorm has come down, and in its place will be two apartment buildings with 60 units and 191 bedrooms, geared towards students as most Collegetown projects are.Ģ32 Dryden, the building closer to Dryden Road, has started work on exterior framing – the partially-above grade basement level, built into the slope of the site, appears to have been framed with Amvic insulated concrete forms (ICFs), similar to those seen at the Ithaka Terraces and the Fox Blocks at the Thurston Avenue Apartments. Visum Development has teamed up with Welliver for one of the few projects not affected by the state building codes change that has left many Collegetown projects unable to move forward. There are have been some minor exterior design modifications (like the dormers in the buildings along Mitchell Street), but otherwise it’s as-approved. Fixtures, primer coats of paint, and trim pieces (moldings, baseboard) will follow. There are 27 buildings in some state of construction, from foundation work to framing to exterior facade application, and all manner of interior work from framing, to rough-ins, and for the furthest along, insulation and perhaps drywall hanging. The request for Saturday hours was approved, so with any luck, they can get to where they need to be in time for the students’ arrival at the start of August. The delays and work cancellations have been severe enough that, with the promise of less weather-prone work elsewhere, a few subcontractors opted out of their contracts – there don’t appear to be hard feelings, it’s just that crews need steady employment. The delays have mostly been weather-related the abnormally wet autumn we had really ate into the construction schedule, because among other issues, you can’t safely pour and cure concrete for foundation slabs if there’s a heavy rain risk. Normally that’s not a big deal, but because this changed a section of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), getting planning board/lead agency permission is a legal necessity. Chapter House proprietor John Hoey has given indications he would like to reopen, but it may not be here, and the first-floor retail space is still being marketed by Pyramid Brokerage.Īccording to Matt Butler at the Ithaca Times, Maplewood is running 25 days behind schedule, which forced the project team to ask the town of Ithaca for approval to work on Saturdays. Now, the question on everyone’s mind is, will the Chapter House reopen in the new building? The truth is, that question has not been resolved. Framing for the apartment building at 406 Stewart Avenue, also destroyed by the April 2015 fire, is underway. It’s pretty common to use water-resistant spray foam for modern brick construction, given that bricks absorb moisture and plywood sheathing can rot when exposed to moisture (see the Simeon’s Rebuild and DiBella’s for other examples of its use). The three-story building is fully framed, spray foam insulation has been applied to the exterior and the water-resistant underlayment has been attached to the roof. It seemed a little optimistic when a late fall or early winter opening was suggested for the replacement structure on the Chapter House site, but the new build has made good progress.
